This building sits quiet on a lazy street in St. Louis. It's an unobtrusive structure that commands very little attention. It's the kind of building one can drive past several times and never notice. I had known about the building for some time, but never thought it was worth exploring until my friend Michael urged me to do so.
We set out on a warm afternoon last year with the intention of seeing what the building had to offer. Entrance was fairly easy, save for the fence we had to climb through to get to a side door. The building was wide open and easy to access. Several cats have taken up residence in some of the nooks inside the building's walls. Michael mentioned seeing the cats on a prior visit and wished he could have offered them a home. The cats seemed to be doing fine, but were apprehensive toward us when we approached.
Inside, this ex-office building is semi-gutted and worn down. There hasn't been much left behind in way of records or files, but miscellaneous building debris litters several areas of the structure. A full walk-through takes no more than 20-30 minutes. The roof offers an interesting view of the city and the building itself. This is not the kind of place I would go out of my way to explore again, but it was interesting enough the first time through.
